A couple of weeks ago, the Washington Education Association (WEA), the largest union representing educators in Washington State, unanimously approved the “Black Lives Matter Resolution”. This resolution effectively ignores the fact there are thousands of students with family members in law enforcement in the state. It creates a hostile learning environment for those students and effectively shouts to them that they don’t matter.

Spanaway, WA – A deputy with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department passed away on Tuesday in the line of duty after suffering a medical emergency.
Shortly after 6 am a passerby saw Deputy Daryl Shuey unresponsive outside his patrol car and called 911. Medics and other deputies rushed to the scene and administered medical advice.
Deputy Shuey was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. It appears Shuey had suffered a medical emergency.

King County, Seattle, WA – Two sheriff’s deputies were shot during an altercation outside of Beaumont Apartments located at the 14000 block of Northeast 183rd Street.
A suspect opened fire on the two police officers, the officers returned fire and the suspect was fatally shot.
One of the deputies was transported to Harborview Medical Center and the other deputy was transported to Evergreen Health Medical Center.
The deputy at Harborview Medical Center is listed in satisfactory condition and the deputy at Evergreen Health Medical Center is listed in stable condition.
