Two US Marshals Shot in the Bronx by Man Wanted for Shooting Massachusetts Trooper; Suspect dead

New York, NY – Early Friday morning, two US Marshals were shot while attempting to apprehend a suspect who previously shot another officer in Massachusetts. Officers from the Marshals, the Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Massachusetts State Police held a warrant for the suspect for armed assault with intent to murder after he allegedly shot a state trooper in Cape Cod in November.

The suspect, 35-year-old Jamaican native Andre K. Sterling, was said to be located at 4085 Ely Ave in the Wakefield neighborhood in the Bronx. Reportedly, a friend of Sterling’s answered the door when officers arrived around 5am and invited them inside. At that point, Sterling appeared, [...]
