Scottsdale Police Shoot And Kill Armed Man On Roof Of Residence

Scottsdale, AZ – On Wednesday at about 2:30PM, Scottsdale Police received multiple calls for a welfare check at a residence in the area of Pinnacle Peak and Dobson Road.

Police say a domestic disturbance was ongoing at the residence. 61-year-old Chris Mellon threatened his family and was in possession of a gun. Mellon’s wife had just left the location, leaving four other family members at the home.

After officers arrived at the location, they were attempting to get the remaining family members to leave the house to a safer location.  While doing so, they spotted Mellon on the roof of the residence. Police say Mellon pointed a gun at officers and an officer [...]
