In a press release put out by the Portland Police Association today, the association stated that recently retired highly decorated officer Scott Groshong, a 27 year veteran of the department has been charged in relation to an incident during riots in downtown Portland where it is alleged that officer Groshong ran down a rioter that was earlier observed looting a store. A special prosecutor from Marion County presented the case to a grand jury that the Portland Police Association alleges was not presented with all the relevant facts.

Rioters have again targeted the Portland Police Association building, setting fire to a pro police billboard attached to the building and covering the building with graffiti in another night of rioting in the Portland area.

The Portland Police Bureau released a statement about the incident at 1 am this morning.
On October 19, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a small group began to gather at Arbor Lodge Park in North Portland. [...]
