New York, NY – During a Black Liberation March on Martin Luther King Day in New York, 11 officers were injured following a dispersal order. The march started from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and moved toward City Hall.
Twenty-eight arrests were made during the event after the violence started. Most arrests were made for “disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and blocking the roadway.”

Rochester, NY – This week, the former Rochester Police Chief La’Ron Singletary has made allegations in a notice of claim against Mayor Lovely Warren, saying that the mayor fired him because he refused to lie for her regarding a suspect death.
The incident in question is regarding the March 30 death of Daniel Prude, who was restrained by police while naked on March 23 while it was snowing. Prude lost consciousness during the detention and died in a hospital seven days later.

New York – The FBI has thwarted a “9/11-style” terror attack in New York. It’s been reported that 30-year-old Cholo Abdi Abdullah, a Kenyan native, has been indicted on six charges. Those include conspiracy to commit aircraft piracy, providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, conspiracy to kill U.S. citizens, and supplying material to support a foreign terrorist organization.
Prosecutors said that Abdullah contacted a “senior al-Shabab commander,” the same one, reportedly, that was involved in the 2019 Nairobi hotel attack that left 21 people dead.

New York, NY – Officers with the New York Police Department were credited Sunday for preventing a mass shooting in Manhattan at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine.
Multiple people called 911 to report an active shooter outside the church after an outdoor Christmas caroling concert Sunday around 3:45pm. The carolers ran inside the church when the suspect, who was reportedly at the top steps of the entrance, started shooting.
A crowd of hundreds of people were walking away when the shooting started.
