Suspect in Attempted Murder of Police Officer Captured

The suspected wanted for the attempted murder of a Santa Maria police officer on Saturday is in custody today after a manhunt that involved please from the public for the whereabouts of the suspect.

Officers responding to a domestic disturbance call in the 200 block of East Grant Street in Santa Maria, California Saturday were shot at by a suspect later identified as 27-year-old Dustin Morales, who then fled the scene and carjacked a citizen at gunpoint to escape the area.

Morales was taken into custody Tuesday by officers from the California Highway Patrol a spokesperson from the Santa Maria Police Department confirmed.

LAPD Officer Shot in Granada Hills

An LAPDA officer wsa wounded in the hand in an exchange of gunfire between the officer and an armed suspect in a Ralph’s supermarket in the Granada Hills area of Los Angeles overnight.

The incident occured at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ralph’s at the corner of Devonshire Street and Balboa Boulevard LAPD stated.

The subject involved in the incident was causing a disturbance inside the store and was shirtless when officers arrived on scene. There were several videos shot by customers inside the store.

Officer Involved in Shooting, Suspect Dead in Salem, OR Incident

Salem, Oregon – A Salem Police officer was involved in a shooting with a suspect in a suburban backyard today after a foot chase.

Police stated that the officer involved was conducting an unrelated traffic investigation at 9:50 a.m. this morning when a vehicle was involved in a crash at 17th Street Northeast and Court Street Northeast.

The driver immediately fled the vehicle on foot and the officer gave chase. Although further details are scarce, it is understood that the shooting related to a confrontation with the officer and unidentified suspect in a backyard resulting in the fatal shooting.
