A draft of a new bill Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is proposing has been obtained by the Miami Herald. The bill expands the current Stand Your Ground law.
The Stand Your Ground law gives a person the right to use deadly force (and does not have the duty to retreat) if they reasonably believe that such force is necessary to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony or prevent imminent great bodily injury or death to themselves or others.
