Cleveland, OH – A Cleveland police officer was shot overnight while responding to a residential alarm.
An alarm went off at 2361 E. 61st Street and responding officers checked the home to see of there had been any forced entry. When officers knocked on the door an individual from inside the home opened fire.
One officer was shot in the bicep and transported to University Hospital. He has since been treated and released.
The SWAT team responded to the incident and took a female who was inside the home into police custody. It is not known at this time whether or not she was the shooter.
The incident remains under investigation.
