Louisville, KY – Louisville Metro Police Department Officer Myles Cosgrove and Detective Joshua Jaynes, two of the officers involved in the Breonna Taylor case, face a hearing this coming Monday to attempt to save their jobs.
Last Tuesday, both officers were served with termination letters from the department’s interim chief Yvette Gentry and they will speak during the pre-termination hearing, with their lawyers present, Monday as a part of their due process to appeal to Gentry and explain why they should not be fired.

Louisville Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly filed a counterclaim in Kentucky this week against Kenneth Walker, the boyfriend of Breonna Taylor that opened fire on Louisville Police during a raid on Taylor’s address, hitting Mattingly in the leg during the raid where officers return fire, killing Taylor.
Mattingly’s counterclaim filed in Jefferson County, Kentucky, alleges that he suffered severe trauma, mental anguish, and emotional distress as a result of the assault by Walker on March 13th, 2020 that sparked widespread protests in Louisville and around the country before the facts of the case were released.
