Anaheim, CA – A man was shot and wounded by Anaheim Police on Monday morning as officers were conducting a ransom and human trafficking investigation.

Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer stated units arrived and placed the location under surveillance.  At around 6:00 AM a man approached officers and confrontation occurred, which resulted in an officer involved shooting.

The suspect fled and was taken into custody a short distance away. He is being treated at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, per authorities.

No officers were injured.

Police have not released info on what led up to the shooting, or if the suspect was involved in the human trafficking investigation.

After the shooting police arrived at the target apartment and located 10 people inside, including the subject of the initial call to police.  Several suspects have been taken into custody regarding the trafficking investigation. Further details were not provided by authorities.
