Los Angeles Deputies Fatally Shoot Man With Gun In Inglewood Area, Dispatch Audio Inside
Los Angeles, CA – Early Sunday morning Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies fatally shot a man who pointed a firearm at both them and passing vehicles in the Inglewood area, according to authorities.
A 911 caller at about 1:50AM reported a man with a gun in the middle of the street near Van Ness Avenue and Van Wick Street, per the sheriff’s department.
Deputies arrived on the scene and saw a man pointing a firearm at a vehicle that was passing by. “As the deputies immediately exited their vehicle and told the suspect to drop the weapon, the suspect turned and pointed the weapon at the deputies, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred,” Lt. Brandon Dean said.
Deputies attempted to render aid to the suspect, who was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. A revolver was recovered near the suspect at the scene.
No deputies were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
