LAPD Officer Shot in Granada Hills
An LAPDA officer wsa wounded in the hand in an exchange of gunfire between the officer and an armed suspect in a Ralph’s supermarket in the Granada Hills area of Los Angeles overnight.
The incident occured at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ralph’s at the corner of Devonshire Street and Balboa Boulevard LAPD stated.
The subject involved in the incident was causing a disturbance inside the store and was shirtless when officers arrived on scene. There were several videos shot by customers inside the store.
Witnesses to the incident stated that the shirtless man fell through the ceiling of the store prior to the officers arrival and was standing on a freezer when confronted by the officers brandishing a handgun.
Although full details were not released about the incident, an officer received a bullet wound to the hand and has since been treated and released from the hospital according to LAPD.
The suspect fled the initial incident location, but was apprehended in a neighboring business 45 minutes later.
