Concord, NC – Officer Jason Shuping, 25, was killed Wednesday night in a shootout with an armed suspect in a case that also saw the suspect killed and another officer, Kaleb Robinson, 23, shot.
Shuping had been with the department since 2019, his shooting causing an immediate outpouring of support for the Concord Police department and its officers. Governor Roy Cooper stated that he had spoken with Shuping’s parents and Concord Police Chief Gary Gacek to offer support and condolences.

Charleston, West Virginia – 28-year-old police officer Cassie Johnson who was shot in the line of duty yesterday is not expected to survive the injuries sustained in the shooting according to sources.
Johnson, who had been an officer with the Charleston Police Department only since January of 2019 was dispatched to a parking complaint at approximately 3 p.m. on Garrison Avenue near the intersection of Crescent Road in Charleston when the incident took place.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A Charleston Police officer was shot Tuesday afternoon after responding to a parking complaint.
Officer Cassie Johnson, who has been with the department since January 2019 was shot responding to a call at 3 p.m. on Garrison Avenue near the intersection of Crescent Road in Charleston when the incident took place. She was then taken to CAMC General where she remains in a serious condition.

Culpeper County deputies were called to a residence in the 13000 block of Brock Lane in Culpeper, Virginia on Thursday on reports of a domestic incident at approximately 2 p.m.
The deputies were confronted by an armed man, later identified as Ellis A. Frye Jr, 62 who was sitting armed with a gun on the front porch of the residence when deputies responded to the scene.
Despite deputies’ attempts to de-escalate the situation for over half an hour, the suspect re-entered the home to retrieve multiple weapons before advancing on deputies on the scene when he was then shot.
